Silver Tone Abalone Pendant and Earring Set

Three piece costume set in bright silver colored metal, one large oval pendant and a matching pair of drop earrings. (1) The pendant holds an oval domed shell cabochon that flashes green, gold, and a little red, the look of paua or abalone. Raised wire scrolls and spirals surround the stone over a hammered polished background, a Celtic or Art Nouveau revival style. The heavy bail opens on a hinge with a snap closure so it slides onto a chain. (2) and (3) The earrings repeat the circle, spiral, and shell design in a smaller round form on plain silver colored French wire hooks. The pendant back is dished and covered in fine raised dots. No maker name or metal stamp is visible in any photo, so this is offered as costume jewelry and not sterling silver. Condition is very good, surfaces bright, all three shell pieces tight in their bezels, light handling marks only. No chain is included with the pendant. Stones are untested and described from visual observation only. Estimated Value: $20 to $40 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
