This Gorham sterling silver pierced bon bon spoon features the intricate Number 588 pattern with cherub heads and scrolling foliate motifs. The reverse of the stem is stamped with the Gorham lion, anchor, and G hallmarks, STERLING, model number 588, and the retailer mark for Spaulding and Co. The pierced bowl exhibits a partial gold-wash finish. It measures 6.25 inches in length and weighs 1.990 OZT. The spoon is in good antique condition with expected tarnish in the deep recesses of the ornate casting (Photo 1). Light surface scratches and wear are visible on the reverse (Photo 4), and the vermeil finish is partially worn (Photo 3).
