Produced in 1961, this West German military mess kit (Kochgeschirr) features a three-piece aluminum construction with a dark olive grey painted finish. Modeled after traditional European field patterns, the set consists of a main deep pot with a metal wire bail handle, an nested inner tray, and a fitted lid/skillet featuring a hinged folding handle bracket. The handle attachment bracket on the lid is clearly stamped PSL 61. This example remains in very good vintage condition, exhibiting minor surface paint scuffs, light edge wear, and clean unpainted interior surfaces. Measures 6.75 x 8 inches. A complete and well-preserved piece of early Cold War military field gear, ideal for collectors of West German militaria or historic outdoor equipment.
