4 Pieces by Joan Miro (Spanish, 1893-1983) Four Double-Sided Lithographs from A Toute Epreuve (1958) Group of four double-sided color lithographs from the celebrated 1958 publication A Toute Epreuve, created by Joan Miro in collaboration with French poet Paul Eluard. Each sheet features Miro's iconic Surrealist imagery rendered in bold primary colors, expressive black line, and biomorphic forms, with the versos incorporating abstract compositions and selected pages of Eluard's poetry. Each lithograph bears a graphite signature. Published after Miro's original illustrations, the works exemplify the artist's masterful integration of abstract symbolism, spontaneous gesture, and poetic visual language. A Toute Epreuve is widely regarded as one of the finest artist's books of the twentieth century and an important collaboration between Miro and Eluard. Condition: Overall good vintage condition with light toning consistent with age, soft handling wear, and minor edge wear. Each measure 9.75" x 12.75".
