This auction lot features an authentic vintage hand-quilted applique textile quilt displaying a beautiful repeating basket pattern. The design showcases twenty five individual hand-cut basket applique patches arranged in a clean grid layout, featuring a charming variety of solid pastel fabrics, gingham checks, and dainty floral calico print cotton patterns. Each basket is secured to the natural off-white cream muslin cotton base with highly detailed, contrasting dark blanket stitching accents. The quilt incorporates a solid pink interior border frame and terminates with a matching pink and white floral print calico fabric rolled binding edge. The textile reveals elaborate hand-quilted relief detailing throughout the composition, including a tight grid diamond crosshatch pattern filling the center fields and an elegant running feather or scroll chain motif running along the outer cream borders.
