Manufactured by WKC (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie.) of Solingen, Germany, this WWII short dress bayonet features a single-edged, nickel-plated steel blade with fullers on both sides. The ricasso displays the stamped WKC knight's head logo alongside the retailer mark "Ray Monnes". Constructed with a nickel-plated eagle-head pommel and upturned crossguard, the hilt is fitted with polished wooden grip scales secured by two rivets. Complete with its original black painted steel scabbard featuring afrog stud and ball tip. This example exhibits light scattered runner marks and minor surface oxidation on the blade, along with nickel finish wear and fine pitting on the pommel and crossguard. The wooden grip scales remain intact with light surfacescratches and rich coloration, while the scabbard retains much of its black finish with minor scuffs and age patina. Blade length measures 7.5 in. with a spine thickness of 5.5 mm; overall length in scabbard measures 12.5 in. A clean, maker-markedWWII German short dress sidearm, offering excellent display appeal for edgeweapon and militaria collectors.
