WWII German K98 Bayonet & Scabbard | 1943

Manufactured in Germany during World War II, this standard-issue Seitengewehr 84/98 (S84/98) bayonet features a bladed steel construction fitted with grooved wooden grip scales secured by two screw sets. The blade ricasso is stamped "43 fnj", designating production by Alexander Coppel GmbH (Alcoso) in 1943. Accompanying the bayonet is its matching-era sheet steel scabbard, stamped "43 cvl" at the throat (indicating manufacture by WKC Waffenfabrik in 1943) along with serial/batch number "8575", while a small Waffenamt acceptance mark appears stamped on the scabbard ball finial. The bayonet and scabbard present in good, original condition, exhibiting age-appropriate wear throughout. The steel blade and hilt components retain substantial blued finish with light scuffing, minor handling marks, and mild surface oxidation on the scabbard exterior. The wooden grip scales show natural wood grain wear, superficial scratches, and minor compression marks consistent with military issue. Dimensions: Blade length: 10 in; Overall length (in scabbard): 15.25 in. Blade width at 4.3 mm, weight at 558 grams. Featuring clear maker and date codes, this late-war K98 bayonet assembly offers strong historical appeal, serving as a classic example of WWII German infantry equipment for military collectors.
