This is an original 1935 collectible cigarette card album manufactured by Cigaretten-Bilderdienst Altona-Bahrenfeld, titled "Vom Werden deutscher Filmkunst: 2. Teil: Der Tonfilm" and authored by Dr. Oskar Kalbus. The volume examines the development of German sound film and features a blue softcover with embossed gilt Fraktur lettering and a tipped-on color portrait. The book spans 136 pages and contains German Fraktur text, accompanied by tipped-in monochrome photo card plates illustrating notable period sound films and actors such as Marlene Dietrich, Emil Jannings, Conrad Veidt, and Paula Wessely. the book contains all of its photos and is complete. Measuring 12 x 9 inches this volume displays extensive water staining on the front cover, foxing, and wear to the upper cover, with light edge wear, corner bumping, and ink markings on the title page. Interior pages are largely clean, with crisp photo plates and minor edge toning. Binding remains intact.
