WWII Hensoldt Wetzlar 10x50 Dienstglas Binoculars

This lot presents a premier, historically unbroken set of WWII German optics: a Hensoldt Wetzlar (bmj code) 10x50 Dienstglas. Featuring the streamlined Dialyt roof-prism barrel design, it is recognized for ergonomic handling and superior light transmission. The binoculars measure 22.2 cm H x 14.0 cm W (8.75" H x 5.5" W) and remain perfectly matched with their original 1942-dated bmj (Hensoldt) leather case, which retains a vivid Waffenamt military acceptance stamp, and measures 24.8 cm H x 14.0cm W (9.75" H x 5.5" W). Technical specifications include a binocular weight of 946 g (2 lb 1.4 oz), bmj maker code, and serial number 509386, manufactured circa 1942. Optics are in superior, remarkably clear condition, free from balsam separation. Eye diopters function smoothly; the central hinge is stiff. The original textured barrel finish shows lifting at seams and late-war circumferential gapping. The matching case is structurally sound, representing a time capsule of German military logistics, with clear 1942 marks and WaA stamp. PM/OT
