ca. strike dated 1851; Traditional Pennsylvania German form hinged lidded hanging lard burning Betty lamp, strike marked "P.D." (used by Peter Derr, Berks Co. Pa.). The spouted lamp is copper based with brass shaped body, fitted brass lid with a hinged cover with lathe turned brass finial-knob. The lamp body has pin mounted wrought iron hanging arm that has wrought iron jamb peg/hook and chain with wick-pick.; 3" x 3 1/2' x 5 3/4"H; Condition: Very clean, shows little or no use. Buyer should judge themselves if this lamp is authentic or re-creation. The knob on lid is usually only a rounded-knob.
