ca. early 19th century; Attributed to Jacob Nolt (1798-1852) of West Earl Twp., Lancaster Co. PA whimsical bird on stem drawing in ink and bright watercolors. The small favor-size drawing on early bond-type rag paper with bird drawn in the style of those signed by Jacob Nolt. The reverse has written in ink, "John Stuber is my bird; John Stuber is my name". The drawing loose framed with paper backer in small mahogany veneered frame; Frame 6 3/4" x 5 3/4"; [Provenance: ex-Clyde Youtz collection]; Condition: "The Paper Birth Dayes…" by Ernests does list a "John Stober", circa 1852, East Cocalico Twp., Lancaster Co., PA as a potential Fraktur artist. This is possibly that artist. Some fading and minor soiling to the drawing
