ca. 1974; Signed, "L. Breininger, Robesonia, Pa." early era redware lidded jar, mold formed with applied rope-twist handles and a domed lid. The jar is sgraffito decorated on a yellow-slip ground with a "Liberty Eagle" and reverse with a blooming heart design. The jar has flowing green glaze accemts and speckled manganese brown finish; 6 3/8" dia. X 10 1/2"H; Condition: The rope-twist ear handles are not evenly placed on either side of jar. The rim of jar has a chip from the glaze. Breininger during the early years pour mold formed pieces, rather than wheel thrown. This is one of those pieces.
