An antique Edison Mimeograph No. 5 duplicating machine, manufactured by the A.B. Dick Company of Chicago, Illinois, under original patents by Thomas A. Edison. This set is housed in its original finger-jointed wooden storage case, whichfeatures stenciled text on the front reading No. 5 and EDISON'S MIMEOGRAPH. The interior of the lid contains two large instructional and reference labels. One provides Directions for Using The Edison Mimeograph illustrated with fourprocess drawings, and the other is a Price List of Edison's Standard Mimeographs with a printed date code of 9-04 (September 1904). A small stationer label for Yeo and Lukens Co. of Philadelphia is also present on the interior lid. The kitincludes several original accessories: a wooden-handled inking roller, a slate board set within a hinged wooden printing frame, a cylindrical storage tube for Edison Mimeograph Stencil Paper, a handheld stylus, a cleaning brush, andThe wooden case exhibits wear consistent with age and heavy use, including numerous surface scuffs, scratches, and stains. Exterior paper labels are fragmented and partially missing.
