Beautiful combination of stencil and freehand cobalt blue decoration on this jug. Freehand flowers above the stenciled "Hamilton and Jones Greensboro. Pa.". Freehand "5" with blue stripes and drips from the brush used by the decorator. Ca. 1870-1875. 19 1/2"H Viewed under a blacklight, a very tight 6" "S" shaped line on one side. Otherwise, very good condition.
