Photos of Seaman John Parton from Pottsville, PA and his family. Parton was lost while he was onboard the submarine USS Bonefish in June 1945. The Bonefish was on her 8th war patrol and had launched on 5/7/1943. Sad reminder of the cost of war. Group comes with a copy of the local newspaper announcing him as MIA and a blowup copy of the Truman condolence letter. Largest photo, 9 3/4"H x 7 3/4"W Very good condition.
