Very nice hand-colored albumen photo (enlarged copy shot of tintype) of an armed Union corporal. Wrist breaker sword and appears to be a Colt pistol in his waist belt. Backdrop includes the US flag and cannon. 1920s ink signed on reverse "Great Grandfather of Dolly Thomas Jacobson". Basic research on find grave shows a Dolly Thomas Jacobson (1904-1998) living in Tioga County. Her father was Edward Francis Thomas (1870-1933) and her great grandfather was Ezekiel Thomas (1831-1908) who served in company B of the 16th Pa Cavalry. He enlisted 10/25/62 and discharged 2/11/65, promoted to Sgt. No mention of being promoted to Corporal. 10"H x 8"W Top left corner is gone. Several detached pieces along right side of photo. Photo in need of conservation.
