Group of two Civil War items. Eagle masthead discharge, filled out in ink for Charles Gerhard who enlisted in Company E of the 5th Pa on April 20th, 1861. Post war colorized photo of a veteran of the 5th Pa wearing his GAR uniform. Signed at the bottom of the photo is "Cop'l Co.C 5. Pa" Possibly the 3-month regiment though he could be a veteran of the 5th Pa Cavalry or the 5th Pa Heavy Artillery. Photo, 11 1/2"h x 8 1/4"W Folds to discharge, edge wear and losses to photo.
