A contemporary Ecuadorian ceramic folk art figurine set from Salinas, dated 2014. The pieces are hand-painted and feature a stylized, elongated form with minimal or faceless characteristics. The musician figure depicts a woman playing a panpipe, also known as a siku or zampoña, finished in a smooth medium-brown glaze with a textured blue skirt and a long black braid. The two cloaked figures wear shawls with a colour gradient transition from white to deep blue, embellished with raised gold-toned metallic beads. These figures have skirts with a heavy, impasto-like texture in dark blue and black. The tallest figure is incised on the reverse with the location Salinas, Ecuador and the date 2014. Dimensions measured against a ruler: Tallest figure: H approx. 34.3 cm Mid-sized figure: H approx. 25.4 cm Smallest figure: H approx. 20.3 cm. Condition: The set is in generally good condition. A dark-coloured repair is present on the rear base of the panpipe player. A vertical firing crack or seam is visible on the rear base of the tallest cloaked figure. There is minor surface wear and occasional small paint flakes consistent with hand-painted ceramic ware.
