H&R Forty Niner 949 .22LR

Updated August 24, 2026

Lot 7539 offers a vintage Harrington & Richardson (H&R) Forty Niner Model 949 revolver chambered in .22LR. Drawing inspiration from 19th-century Western sidearms, this single-action revolver features a 5.5-inch barrel housing a clean, shiny bore, mounted to a sturdy steel frame with a traditional swing-out 9-shot cylinder arrangement. The classic wood grips display scratches and dents from honest historical use, while the overall handgun remains in fair condition showing plenty of outer surface wear. H&R manufactured the "Forty Niner" in tribute to the famous California Gold Rush of 1849, blending nostalgic frontier aesthetics with high-capacity rimfire shooting fun. Perfect for vintage collectors and hands-on tinkerers, please keep in mind that this handgun seems like it needs work to operate prior to use. Please see photos.
