Lot 7538 highlights a classic Smith & Wesson Safety Hammerless top-break revolver chambered in .38 caliber (.38 S&W). Revered by firearms historians as the famous "Lemon Squeezer," this piece features a 3.25-inch barrel with a bright, shiny bore, an internal hammer, and an integrated rear grip safety. Fitted with original factory grips, the frame and outer barrel surfaces show fair condition with tons of rust and heavy vintage patina throughout. Smith & Wesson introduced this innovative hammerless series in the late 19th century to prevent accidental discharges and snagging during pocket draws. It seems like it needs work to operate, making it a prime candidate for restoration. Please see photos. Smith & Wesson Safety Hammerless .38 Cal DA/SA 3.25 Shiny 56712 Fair
