Large Mexico Pottery Pig Bank 15 Inch

Large figural pig coin bank, impressed MEXICO in block letters on both lower flanks. Correct the size first. It measures about 15 inches nose to rump and about 11 inches tall, not the 18 by 12 given earlier, which still makes it a substantial display piece. The body is a pink salmon ground with an overall white spatter webbing, applied molded red daisy flowers with green leaves on the back and head, black painted ears, snout, hooves and tail, and painted eyes with lashes. Two points of accuracy. The crackle effect is decorative cold painted spatter drizzled over the ground, not glaze crazing, and the piece is matte unglazed painted ware. And there is no stopper and no stopper hole, the coin slot on the rump being the only opening. Condition is fair. The flat base pad has worn to gray white body with paint surviving only at the edges, which is wear rather than a chip. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
