Glass pitcher with a cast metal hinged lid mount, standing about 11 and a half inches. The mount is cast with an S scroll acanthus handle, foliate spout brackets and an applied embossed leaf band at the collar. Be clear on the metal. It is silverplate over a yellow base metal and the plate has worn essentially completely off the exterior. Silvery grey survives only inside the lid dome, on the lid flange, inside the spout trough and on the collar's inner face, while every exposed surface is now base metal. No hallmark, EPNS mark, quadruple plate mark or maker name appears anywhere. The glass is pressed, not cut, a deep waffle block field with rounded mold formed detail and a pressed rayed starburst base with no pontil. Condition is fair. The hinge works and the lid seats flush, the glass has no chips or cracks, but the metal is heavily tarnished with small dents. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
