Two matching iridescent carnival glass plates about 9 inches across, in an amber golden base glass carrying a bright marigold iridescence with strong pink, violet, blue and green secondary flashes, applied very evenly with no thin or missed areas. The face pattern reads as a central eight petal star medallion inside a fine diamond point cane field, then a ring of raised hexagons, then a wider diamond point band, with a deeply scalloped sawtooth rim. Be clear on attribution. The exterior is completely plain with no back pattern and the base is unmarked with no Northwood, Imperial, Fenton or Dugan mark. Classic period makers molded a back pattern on plates like these, so the plain back, plain base and very even unworn iridescence point to later production carnival, not classic. Condition is very good with the iridescence essentially unworn and every rim point intact. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
