Oak swivel piano stool with a shaped crest rail back, about 36 inches tall with a 14 inch round dished seat. The crest is pressed and carved with a central shell and leaf motif above five back spindles, and the four turned and reeded splayed legs are joined by turned cross stretchers and end in brass claw feet gripping black glass balls. Note that it has no casters. The form copies a late Victorian piano stool, but the mechanism is a modern black painted steel post on a bolted steel flange plate and the turnings are machine uniform, so this is a 20th century reproduction rather than a period stool and it is offered as such. No maker mark. Condition is good. The screw thread travels and the seat is shown raised, the solid oak seat has no crack, and all four brass claw feet are present with one glass ball scuffed. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors. Please review all photos before bidding.
