Hand Painted Floral Slant Front Secretary

Painted bombe slant front secretary desk about 42 inches tall, with seven drawers in total. Two small upper drawers sit over three graduated long drawers, and two more small felt lined drawers are fitted inside the writing interior alongside six pigeonholes divided by a shaped center shelf. Two pull out lopers support the drop front. Hand painted tole style floral sprays decorate the drop front and every drawer face over a cream ground with an antiquing glaze, and the case sides, base and interior carry a sage green sponged finish. Bidders should understand what this is. It is a late 20th century reproduction with a factory applied decorative finish, not old original paint and not folk art, as shown by the full length piano hinge, flocked drawer linings and a modern component built into the interior. All eight knobs are present. Condition is fair with paint rubbing on the drop front edges and glaze loss on all four plinth corners. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
