A three-piece set of hand-painted porcelain manufactured by the Morimura Brothers, comprising a double-handled vase and a pair of salt and pepper shakers. The vase is of ovoid form with a flared neck and two gilded loop-style handles, tapering to a pedestal base. It features large hand-painted roses in white and pink tones set against a graduated matte green and cream ground. The shoulder is decorated with heavy moriage work, including gilded relief acanthus leaves and a Greek key border on a chocolate-brown ground, with corresponding gilded bands around the foot. The two shakers are of bulbous, egg-shaped form, decorated with sprays of yellow flowers and finished with integrated, perforated gilded tops. The base of the vase bears a green underglaze backstamp featuring a stylized letter M within a laurel wreath, encircled by the words Hand Painted and NIPPON. Dimensions (measured from visible ruler showing inches): Vase H approx 24 cm; Shakers H approx 7 cm. Condition: The set is in good overall condition. There is minor rubbing and surface wear to the gilding, particularly on the vase handles and the shaker tops, which is consistent with age and use. The pieces are free from visible chips, cracks, or evidence of professional restoration.
