Attributed to the Bombay Company, this decorative ceramic urn is finished in a traditional blue and white underglaze. The vessel features a flared, scalloped rim above a cylindrical body supported by a circular stepped foot. It is flanked by two large, ornate handles in the form of stylized foliated scrolls with a mottled blue glaze finish. The exterior is decorated with an underglaze blue floral design depicting large sunflowers or chrysanthemums set among scrolling vines and broad foliage. A repeating cloud or scroll border defines the base. The underside features a printed cautionary mark in English and French: MADE IN CHINA, NOT FOR FOOD USE, MAY POISON FOOD, FABRIQUÉ EN CHINE, and warning that the item is not intended for food service due to the risk of poisoning. A hand-painted blue character is also present on the base. Height approx. 29 cm; Width approx. 22 cm (measured in inches from a visible ruler). Condition: The urn is in generally good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. There is significant adhesive sticker residue present on the exterior body and the base.
