A contemporary abstract expressionist painting executed in acrylic on a square stretched canvas. The composition features a series of vertical color fields in a palette of red, yellow, olive green, grey, and white. Overlaid on these fields are spontaneous, gestural black lines and circular forms that incorporate fluid drips and varying line weights. The application of paint includes thin, scumbled layers that allow the canvas texture to remain visible, contrasted by thicker, impasto passages in the yellow highlights and black linear elements. The canvas is secured to a standard wooden stretcher frame with staples on the reverse. The upper stretcher bar features a length of green tape with the handwritten inscription 20" x 20'. Condition: The artwork is in good overall condition. The paint surface is stable with no visible craquelure, flaking, or loss. The canvas remains taut on the stretcher frame and there are no apparent signs of surface grime or restoration.
