Antique Chinese carved jade belt buckle depicting a monkey reclining upon the back of a horse. Finely executed in pale celadon-green jade with a smooth polished surface and attractive semi-translucent appearance. The carving features detailed facial expressions, flowing mane and tail, and a stylized mask-form buckle terminal. Monkeys and horses are auspicious motifs in Chinese art, often symbolizing advancement, success, and noble rank. The reverse retains the carved attachment elements typical of traditional belt buckles. A handsome example of Chinese jade craftsmanship suitable for display or collection. 3 1/2" x 2" x 1".
