Striking Chinese blue and white porcelain plaque dating to the Qing Dynasty, 19th century, featuring a finely detailed depiction of Zhong Kui, the legendary demon queller and protector figure in Chinese folklore. Rendered in rich cobalt tones, the composition shows the armored figure wielding a weapon alongside a mythical beast, symbolizing the warding off of evil spirits. The upper register includes calligraphic inscriptions and a seal mark reading "Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi" (Made during the Qianlong period of the Great Qing Dynasty), a traditional honorific mark commonly found on later Qing works. Executed in underglaze blue on a rectangular porcelain panel, this piece was likely intended for wall display or mounting. The reverse shows kiln and mounting wear consistent with age. 16 1/2" x 10 1/2" Please Note: Plaque has been repaired, please, look at the pictures.
