Ludovic Rodo Pissarro (French, 1878-1952) An expressive oil on canvas depicting two female dancers in a performance setting. The foreground figure, seen from behind, wears a dark hat with a blue ribbon, a teal tunic, and a voluminous white ruffled skirt, while another dancer in white is visible to the right. The scene is rendered with impasto brushwork, featuring warm wooden floor tones and a dark, indistinct background. Signed "Ludovic Rodo" lower left. Framed. Ludovic Rodo Pissarro was a French painter and engraver, and the son of Impressionist master Camille Pissarro. Encouraged to draw from life early on, he published his first woodcut at age sixteen and later exhibited alongside his father and brothers.
