Egon Schiele (Austrian, 1890-1918) A poignant drawing on paper depicting a seated female nude in a contorted, expressive pose. The work utilizes Schiele's characteristic nervous, angular linework in graphite, accented with soft ochre and flesh-toned washes that emphasize the raw vulnerability of the subject. Signed "Egon Schiele 1914" in the center right. Framed. Egon Schiele was a major figure of Austrian Expressionism and a protege of Gustav Klimt. Known for his intense, psychologically charged portraits and unapologetic explorations of the human form, his work broke traditional conventions of beauty through jagged lines and emotive distortion.
