Herge (Belgian, 1907-1983). An ink and gouache drawing on paper featuring the iconic characters Tintin and his dog, Snowy, seated in the cockpit of a yellow and red vintage aircraft. The work utilizes the artist's signature ligne claire (clear line) style with bold outlines and flat, vibrant primary colors against a neutral ground. Signed "Herge" in the lower right. Framed. Georges Prosper Remi, known by the pen name Herge, was a Belgian cartoonist and the creator of The Adventures of Tintin. He is widely considered the father of the modern European comic strip, pioneering the influential "clear line" style characterized by strong outlines and a lack of hatching. His meticulous research and cinematic storytelling transformed the medium of bande dessinee into a globally recognized art form.
