1923-D Peace Silver Dollar, struck at the Denver Mint. This classic 90% silver dollar is an important issue for collectors of Peace Dollars and early U.S. silver coinage. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, strike, and overall appearance. The Peace Dollar was designed by sculptor Anthony de Francisci to commemorate the peace following World War I. The obverse features Liberty wearing a radiate crown, while the reverse depicts an eagle perched on a mountain with an olive branch and the word “PEACE” below. The series was produced from 1921 through 1935. The 1923-D had a mintage of 6,811,000 coins, making it the second-highest mintage Peace Dollar produced at the Denver Mint. Although not considered a key date, the 1923-D is popular with collectors, and sharply struck examples can be particularly desirable.
