Large and impressively ornate foyer or center table in the Rococo Revival taste, featuring a rectangular reddish-orange marble top above an exuberantly carved wood and composite base finished in a distressed silvered and gilt palette. The pierced apron is richly modeled with scrolling acanthus leaves, shellwork, floral sprays, and central cartouches, continuing into four dramatic cabriole legs embellished with foliate carving, sculptural animal-mask terminals, and bold volute feet. The substantial marble top displays two prominent structural cracks extending through the slab, along with several edge nicks, small chips, scratches, and surface wear; the base exhibits scattered losses and chipping to the gilt and silvered finish, age-related cracking, abrasions, and general wear throughout. Despite its condition issues, the table retains a commanding architectural presence and highly decorative character suited to a grand entryway or formal interior. Measures 36.25" H x 78" W x 24" D.
