Nelson Rumano (Zimbabwean, b. 1955) carved and polished stone sculpture depicting a stylized seated figure rendered in the flowing, reductive vocabulary of Zimbabwean Shona sculpture, with an oversized bowed head, sweeping facial contour, rounded torso, and broad hands resting across the lap. Carved from densely mottled gray-green serpentine stone with subtle brown and reddish inclusions, the sculpture balances smooth, softly polished surfaces against sharply incised details defining the face, arms, fingers, and enveloping silhouette. Signed by the artist on the bottom edge on the back. Condition is good overall with scattered surface scratches, rubbing, small nicks and shallow chips along the upper edge of the head, and minor wear consistent with handling and display. Measures 14.25" H x 7.5" W x 4.5" D.
