Late 19th-century Chinese carved hardwood lamp or side table featuring a shaped pink and cream marble inset top within a deeply carved foliate and geometric border above an elaborately openwork apron decorated with fruiting vines and floral motifs. The bold cabriole legs terminate in stylized paw feet and are carved with mythical beast masks and floral ornament, joined by a circular lower shelf that adds both stability and display space. Richly sculpted throughout, this handsome table displays the dramatic craftsmanship associated with Qing Dynasty export furniture. Condition is consistent with age and use, including surface scuffs and scratches, scattered cracks to the wood, a repaired paw foot, and areas of adhered white residue or staining on the carved apron and rim, while remaining an impressive decorative example. Measures 23" H x 26" W x 26" D.
