A Persian Ghom hand-knotted and tied silk area rug featuring 100% silk pile on a silk foundation. The design comprises a central lobed medallion in navy blue with cream and terracotta accents set within an ivory field. The field isdecorated with a Gol-o-Bolbol flower and bird motif depicting various avian figures among scrolling floral vines and blossoms. The primary border is rendered on a red ground with bird and floral elements, enclosed by multiple guard borders.A woven inscription cartouche is present in the center of one end border. The reverse side retains several labels including a German adhesive tag marked Teppich-Nr. 35604, a retailer tag for rug No. 50218-6-C, and a handwritten Losco tag.3 feet 6 inches x 5 feet 5 inches.This rug is in overall nice condition and exhibits minimal expected wear due to its age.
