This French Provincial revival two-piece set features a kidney-shaped vanity desk and a coordinating oval-back chair. The vanity desk is finished with walnut veneers, cross-banded borders, and light wood stringing. It is configured withthree drawers including a central drawer flanked by two curved side drawers, all featuring dovetail construction and cast metal floral hardware. The desk stands on slender cabriole legs with carved scroll and acanthus details at the knees.The matching chair includes a round seat and an oval padded back upholstered in a pastel multicolored plaid fabric, with carved floral motifs on the apron and crest rail to match the desk. Both pieces feature a light-washed or cerusedfinish. Faint purple ink stamps are present on the exterior drawer sides but are illegible. Vanity Desk: 31 inches high by 37 inches wide by 19 inches deep. Matching Chair: 39 inches high by 16 inches wide by 18 inches deep.This set shows mostly expected wear due to its age and light use. The matching chair features a break to the top crest rail with a temporary repair that is ready for professional restoration.
