This hand-knotted Persian Esfahan carpet features a wool pile on a cotton foundation. The ivory central field displays a symmetrical, all-over Bird and Flower design, depicting various bird species among scrolling floral vines and blossoms. The pattern is executed in a palette of cornflower blue, dusty rose, tan, and dark brown. A wide primary border with a dusty rose ground repeats the avian and botanical motifs, flanked by multiple narrow guard borders with repeating floraland geometric patterns. Both ends are finished with hand-tied cream-colored fringe extending from the rug foundation. 8 feet wide by 10 feet long. This carpet shows expected light wear consistent with age and residential use. The wool pile remains thick and even throughout. The hand-tied fringe is largely intact and complete.
