Century Furniture French Provincial Table & Chairs

This dining suite was manufactured by Century Furniture Industries, Inc. of Hickory, North Carolina. The set consists of an extension dining table and six matching chairs in the French Provincial style. The table features an oval top withdecorative parquetry veneer in a diamond pattern and a contrasting inlaid border. It is supported by a cream-painted and distressed base with a serpentine apron and cabriole legs featuring acanthus leaf carvings. The coordinating chairshave carved frames with a distressed off-white finish and floral-carved crests. They are upholstered in a pink diamond-patterned fabric accented with gold-toned fleur-de-lis motifs. Each chair measures 39 inches tall by 21 inches wide by22 inches deep. Construction details include the use of polyurethane foam and felted blended fiber filling, consistent with a mid-to-late 20th-century manufacture date. The underside of the chairs retains the original law tags and a label. This set displays expected minor wear to the table top and painted finish consistent with age and use. Set includes table pads and covers for the table leaves.
