PATTERNS BY YONGLE OF THE MING DYNASTY. <br>H:6.5cm W:39.2cm This is an imperial large blue-and-white plate of Ming Dynasty, with wide flared mouth and shallow belly supported by neat ring foot. It is covered with glossy pure white glaze, decorated with layered patterns inside: interlocking grape vines with plump fruit and clear leaf veins enclosed within double blue circles at the center; a band of four-season winding flowers covering the inner wall; continuous sea wave patterns line the rim. Painted with imported cobalt pigment, the blue tone is rich bright with natural iron rust speckles on blurred areas, rendered with powerful fluent brushwork. Grape symbolizes numerous descendants and abundant harvest.
