The Marie Rogers Rock Tooth Southern Ugly Face Jug is a highly collectible piece of American folk art produced in the traditional Jugtown, Georgia potting lineage. Marie Rogers (1922–2010) was a pioneering figure, remembered as the last practitioner and the only female potter of the historic Georgia Jugtown tradition. Her face jugs are celebrated for their highly expressive, "grotesque" features and intricate, compact craftsmanship.
