Antique 19th-century colour portrait print depicting an elegantly dressed young woman seated in a wooded landscape, wearing a rich blue dress and holding a letter or paper. Printed at lower right “London, Published by the Proprietor George Baxter, Patentee, 11 & 12 Northampton Square.” George Baxter (1804–1867) was an English printer and engraver noted for developing and patenting an innovative process for producing richly coloured prints during the Victorian period. Presented under glass with decorative matting in a black wood frame. Approx. 23" x 19" framed. Some of the publisher's inscription/date at lower right is obscured by the matting. Frame and print exhibit age-related wear.
