Eugenio Zampighi Family Scene Print

Framed colour print after a work by Eugenio Zampighi (Italian, 1859–1944), depicting a lively rustic domestic interior with a family gathered around a baby in a wicker cradle, accompanied by chickens and other details of rural household life. The printed signature “E. Zampighi” appears at the lower right. Zampighi became particularly known for warm, highly detailed Italian genre scenes showing family life, peasants, children and domestic interiors. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Modena, won the Poletti Prize in 1880, later settled in Florence, and developed an international following for his sentimental depictions of everyday Italian life. He also used photography extensively as reference material for his paintings. Approximately 12.5" x 18" framed. Presented under glass in a dark wood frame. Vintage condition with expected age-related wear to frame and print.
