Early 20th century marine boat signal lamp featuring a cylindrical steel body with vented chimney, hinged access door, and convex signal lens. The lantern retains its original oil burner, marked P&A (Plume & Atwood Mfg. Co., Waterbury, Conn.) on the wick adjustment knob. While the lantern body is unmarked, it is of a type commonly associated with Perkins Marine Lamp & Hardware (Perko) production. Designed for use as a navigational signal lamp aboard small boats and watercraft. Displays age-appropriate wear, oxidation, and patina consistent with decades of service. A desirable piece of early maritime and nautical history. Measures 8 1/2" tall.
