Highly stylized hand-carved black serpentine (soapstone) sculpture depicting a bird in flight with fully outstretched wings mounted on an integral pedestal. The sculpture features polished surfaces, inset circular eyes, and elegant minimalist lines characteristic of modern Inuit carving. The underside retains the original Government of Canada "Eskimo Art / Art esquimau" Igloo Tag (No. 99081771), confirming that it was marketed through the official Canadian Inuit art authentication program. While the tag verifies authenticity as Canadian Inuit art, it does not identify the individual artist without accompanying documentation. The Igloo Tag program was established to distinguish authentic Inuit carvings from commercial reproductions.
