1960s CREAM & GOLD TUFTED CLUB LOUNGE BARREL CHAIR

NO SHIPPING ~ LOCAL PICKUP ONLY > On casters, a later mid-century modernistic style upholstered lounge chair with a deep, rounded barrel-back form, continuous rolled arms, button-tufted interior back and a loose box seat cushion. The chair is fully upholstered in a flat-sheen creamy white fabric woven with raised metallic-gold geometric designs resembling an interlocking basketweave or fretwork pattern. The contrasting textures create a restrained formal appearance, although the subtle cream-and-gold coloration is difficult to capture accurately in photographs. A tailored floor-length skirt conceals the base, while casters fitted beneath the chair allow it to move easily. No manufacturer’s label was found. The quality of the upholstery work, generous proportions and finished reverse suggest an upper-grade formal chair dating approximately to the later 20th century, well suited for a bedroom, dressing room, sitting area or traditional interior. CONDITION REPORT > Sturdy and comfortable overall. The creamy upholstery displays some uneven toning or browning, likely influenced at least in part by settled dust and age; however, the gold woven pattern and naturally blended coloration make the extent difficult to distinguish with certainty. The fabric may respond favorably to careful upholstery cleaning, potentially improving the overall appearance, although no cleaning has been attempted or guaranteed. The upholstery remains intact overall, and the chair rolls easily on the fitted casters.
