AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > See condition report below. Offered as a -3- piece lot, produced in1994, figural rabbit form pottery group by The Potting Shed of Concord, Massachusetts. Comprising a double rabbit taper candlestick, a butter stick dome cover and an open rabbit form soap dish. Each features a cream crackle glaze surface, hand-painted cobalt-blue ears, facial details, floral decoration and dark blue accents inspired by the historic Dedham Pottery rabbit design. The underside of the open rabbit is marked PS ? USA 94 and retains the circular THE POTTING SHED CONCORD label, documenting American manufacture and the 1994 production date. The candlestick is modeled with two seated rabbits flanking a tall central taper socket and includes the candle shown. The butter cover features a fully modeled reclining rabbit. The rabbit soap dish has a recessed concave interior decorated with blue flowers and grasses. The Potting Shed produced handmade American pottery based upon the recognizable blue and white crackle-glazed style associated with Dedham Pottery. The coordinated rabbit forms, dated maker’s mark and individually hand-painted decoration give the lot appeal for collectors of The Potting Shed, Dedham-style pottery, rabbit décor and American studio ceramics.
