R Serial # NSN. .22 Sh-L-LR caliber bolt action target rifle with a 24” barrel. The bore is excellent, clean with strong rifling. Full length tubular magazine. The blued metal finish on the barrel, receiver and magazine tube is a re-blue and is in very good condition showing scattered light scuffs and scratches with some widely scattered light freckling. Original front sight including the hood, the rear sight has been removed and the dovetail filled with a blank. The receiver mounted peep sight is missing. The plain walnut stock has been customized by adding a contrasting nose piece and grip cap, filling a hole through the forearm, in-laying textured gripping panels and filling the stock bullseye hole. Sling swivels added. Plastic butt plate with an added white spacer. The action works fine. Includes a BSA 3-7x20 scope in a weaver side mount. Made from 1940 to 1965. C&R.
